Description

This 6.7 liter Powerstroke engine is used in the vehicle are ford super duty and ford /f-650 and ford/f-750.

The 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 from Ford motor. It is widely used in commercial vehicles and heavy-duty pickup trucks. It has an overhead valve design (OHV), this ford 6.7L  Powerstroke scorpion architecture has been a part of Ford’s family since 2010. In the year 2011 model this engine was introduced in the ford super duty and ford developed its own turbo diesel for the first time. Its core design has its turbocharger with a dual compressor and single turbine setup. After updating the engine in the year 2015, it has a single Garrett GT37 variable geometry turbocharger, which is beneficial for the increase in horsepower and torque. For the model year 2020, this edition has additional revision in its programs and boost to develop its high torque segment of all time 1050 lb-ft.

Previously, this ford 6.7 L power plants reached the highest horsepower wall, before ever cresting the 500rwhp mark.

With the updation and many more changes the second generation of ford 6.7 L Powerstroke engine came into the market, there were 15 models graced with traditional design, single turbo compressor, and higher flowing injection pump.

More horsepower was needed because there were 15 newer engines with high flowing turbocharger and higher volume injection pump. If we talk about the budget section which is categorized into two one is “15-16” engines which cost around $1,500 to $8,000. Another is ’11-’14 Powerstroke ( $1,400 to $9,400).

The 11-14 6.7 L Powerstroke engine has less flow than CP3. Due to limitations of fueling and tough turbocharger aboard, ’11-’14 engines also limit the amount of power that can be opened with just a tune.

The 650rwhp, ’11-’14 cost around $9,400 push the stock injectors to their limit. It has a high-pressure fuel pump on the engine, so it needs a strong lift pump for its upgrade.

For support to a higher flowing turbocharger, it has to add cold air intake. There is no limit intake for the ’11-’16 6.7L Powerstroke because it comes with a 5-inch diameter intake tube and a 5.5*9- inch air filter that can be had in oiled or dry form.

The 6.0L Powerstroke has a small bore, has a four-valve design, and lends itself to the higher rpm range, which also means higher torque as well. Decades ago when PCM tuning was not so refined like it is nowadays, many 6.0L owners said that this engine’s bottom end could withstand 700 rwhp. According to many websites, a lot of serious enthusiasts said that the 800hp 6.0L power stroke range gets you into unchartered waters with a 6.0L.

For the 6.7L Powerstroke Ford’s starting plans were getting forged rods, powdered metal units. Its rods were smaller than the previous version of the engine, so according to Mike Dillehay-” we advise 6.7L customers going over 700hp that they are In The danger zone as we have seen two motors let go between 725-750 hp”.

The 6.7 L stock rods are used at present times very well. You must think twice and consider a Carrillo’s H-beam connecting rods if you are making your mind for the range of 700hp for your Super duty. Carrillo is the lighter and smaller rods In 6.7 L might not be sufficient for the power greedy owner.
